The
Junction Project is a Entertainment/Sport complex being
developed on 480 acres 20 miles north of Interstate 70 and the
city of Columbia in Mid-Missouri. This complex will consist of a
Multi Purpose Coliseum, ¼
mile Drag Strip, Paved Road Course,
Motocross Track, 1/5
mile Dirt Oval Track, various other off road tracks, a Professional
Ski Lake with Large RV
Park, Professional
Competition Shooting Range, Nightclub,
Hotels, supporting Travel/Fueling
Center, Restaurants, Commercial/Retail
Strips as well as a Light
Industrial Park.
Coliseum
This will be a 240,000 sq. ft. 6500 permanent seat
Coliseum with 80,000 sq. ft. of outside and inside accessible
retail space, and 60,000 sq. ft. of office and convention space.
This coliseum will showcase National & Regional Horse
Shows, Dog Shows, Trade Shows, Exotic Auto Auctions, Indoor
Go-Kart Racing, Motocross Racing, Freestyle Motocross, Truck
& Tractor Pulls, Monster Trucks, Concerts, Youth
Organization Events, Motivational events, and much more. There
will be drive through covered horse barns with showers for the
horses, and parking facilities with utility hookups for the
trailers with living quarters. There will also be warm up arenas
both outdoors and inside the coliseum.
Motor-Plex
This
motor-plex will fill a desperately needed void for the racers of
Missouri as well as be a great centrally located facility for
national racers.
It
will consist of a state of the art ¼ Mile Drag Strip, with
influences and safety features designed by a local 6-time world
champion drag racer.
There
will be a Paved Road Course for the professional sanctioned race
drivers, as well as a great safe place for the Mustang, Porsche,
Corvette, Mopar, and import car clubs to come race their show
cars to prove who truly has the best car.
For
the circle track lovers we will start off with a 1/5 Mile Dirt
Oval Track providing excellent racing excitement for Go-Kart and
Micro Midget racers and their fans.
There will be an area reserved to put in a larger oval
track for the Modifieds, Late models, and Sprint Car racers if
there is enough demand for it in the future.
For
the two wheel racers there will be a fierce Motocross Track with
courses designed for riders ranging from Beginner Youth Riders,
Professional Competition Rider, to Senior Riders. There are also
plans to for BMX racers to have a competitive course within this
facility. Having an oval track for the Flat Track Racers is also
under discussion; and lets don’t forget the 2 wheel asphalt
racers that will now have a Road Course Track to compete
on.
Ski
Lake & RV Park
This lake will be built for both sport and recreation. It
will be built with the purpose of having professional ski events
like Men’s Slalom, Women’s Slalom, Ski Jumping, and Jet Ski
competitions. When not in competition uses it will be a great
local recreation lake. Families will be encouraged use the lake
for family outings, pick nicks, and teaching their kids how to
fish etc. There will be shelter houses around the lake with BBQ
pits and sand volleyball courts. This Lake will also have a
large RV Park with full utility hook ups on its shoreline. This
majestic setting park will also have a Recreation/Club house
with gaming facilities for those rainy days as well as Laundry
and Shower facilities for those multi day camp over sport
events. There is also discussion of putting an amphitheater near
the lake for outdoor concert events.
Professional
Competition Shooting Range
This range will be located below the dam of the lake and
will have ranges for professional Hand Gun, Rifle, Skeet, and
Archery competitions. This facility will be ran by man who is
not only a professional competitive shooter but a custom gun
builder as well. There will be not only local, but also National
Competition Shooting events held here. There will be a club
house type facility built that will be used for safety and
training schools as well as club meetings and banquets. A Gun
Shop and Customizing facility will be located at or near the
range.
Nightclub
A large Nightclub has been proposed for this site to give
entertainment to not only the local residents, but for all the
patrons attending the magnitude of events that will be held at
this massive complex. This proposed facility is designed to have
two levels, with a massive lower level dance floor and large
concert style stage and sound system. The proposed location of
this facility would back up to the lake. This gives the
possibility for a lakeside dinner club style facility with small
outdoor concert theater and sand volleyball courts to be built.
This facility will have the ability to be sectioned off and only
a minimal space used on non-event days to keep overhead to a
minimum, but then be opened up to full capacity on event days
and weekends to cater to the patrons of the complex.
Hotels
The hotels on this complex will obviously be need to
facilitate the participants as well as the spectators of the
events that will be held at this complex. Many of the events
held at this complex will be national competitions which can
last anywhere from two to five days. Even though the outdoor
sports are seasonal, the Coliseum will have events year round
creating a need every week for hotels. The number of hotels will
naturally grow as more facilities and events in this massive
complex grow, meeting the demands of its patrons.
Travel
Center
The travel center has been desperately needed in this
area for years. This facility will house a large convenient
store, Family Restaurant, and Fueling facilities. This complex
is located just North East of an overpass exit from a four lane
highway (US Hwy 63) running north from (Interstate 70) one of
the largest East/West arteries of the nation. This US Hwy 63
currently has no fueling facilities within 15 miles either
direction of this complex; and can only get gasoline if you
leave the highway and find a small town to the East with one
station. This is the perfect location for a travel center just
for highway traffic, local citizens and farmers. Now adding in
with this massive Entertainment/Sport complex with all its
visiting patrons, the travel center is bound to be one of the
most profitable facilities on the complex. Oh, and don’t
forget the racing fuels that will be sold to support all the
competitors at the Motor-Plex.
Commercial/Retail
There is a large section along the entrance of the
complex that is set-aside for Commercial and Retail buildings,
shops, and strips. These will house many supporting businesses
to the complex and its patrons. Some proposed business examples
are bank, dollar store, farm implements, beauty and health
salon, etc. These businesses will not only benefit from the
thousands of patrons visiting the complex every week, but many
will actually be supporting business to the type of competitions
being held at the complex.
Industrial
Park
There are two areas on this complex that are initially
being set aside for light industrial businesses. These are
located on the Northern and Southern most points of the East
side of the complex. The Northern area is next to a railroad
where a spur could be built to support industrial facilities
that need rail support. On the Southern most end is closest to
highway access to better support those industrial business that
prefer shipping by truck. This complex is located on the major
North/South thoroughfare of US Hwy 63 with overpass access, and
is only 20 Miles North of Interstate 70.
